Hi, I'm so pleased to be running this  playwriting workshop with Kibo Productions at the newly re-opened

Barons Court Theatre.

It's free, and open to writers of all levels but we'd like to prioritise people who are unwaged or low waged.

What we'll be doing:

Sat March 5th

What ideas drive you the most. Distilling your ideas to make a play.

Sat March12

Overview of structure & style

Sat March 19

Delving into structure – first half of the play.

Scene writing

Sat March 26

Delving into structure – second half of the play.

Scene writing

Sat April 2

Playing around with structure & applying structure to your own play idea.

Writing dialogue

Sat April 9

Re-cap and general playwriting tools chat.

Reading of writers' prepared scenes.

  1. We'll open each session with the chance to talk about writing anxieties and 'writers block'.

  2. We want this to be a collaborative learning experience: we’ll work together on building up play ideas, and participants will be asked to bring some playwriting provocations for us to include in each session.

  3. Participants should be prepared to do a little preparation between some of the sessions e.g. scene writing & a bit of play reading.

  4. Participants might need to print off a few documents – as we are unfunded, we are unable to cover the cost of printing.

  5. Please be able to commit to all the sessions – as this is free for participants others will miss out if you sign up but can’t attend.

Baron's Court Theatre, 28a Comeragh Rd, London W14 9HR (basement of Curtain Up pub).

Dates as above. 2pm - 5pm.

There isn't one (but you will need to print off some resources.)
